Trust in our combined experience and love of teaching!
My name is Amy Van Lew. I am founder and lead advocate for Believing In All Children. I spent approximately 20 years as a teacher of special education students and general education students. I left teaching to be a stronger voice for parents and children. As a mother of a special needs child, I understand the frustration that develops from navigating the system to provide your child with what he or she needs.
I taught for approximately 20 years in both general education and special education. My passion as a teacher was always to facilitate learning for all children. This passion grew and developed into becoming a voice for those who were not being heard.
I was trained by the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates. I am committed to professional growth to remain current with IDEA.
At Believing In All Children, we are dedicated exclusively to protecting each child’s right to an education. We believe in collaborating with school districts to ensure each child receives the appropriate education they are entitled to.
The special education process can be very overwhelming and isolating at times. As a former teacher of special education, general education and a mother of a special needs child I am well versed in navigating special education professionally and personally. YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
It is hard to know what your child needs. At Believing In All Children we help you understand your child's disability and what services may be appropriate for your child to receive in school. This may range from placements in and out of district, related services, evaluations and understanding what the evaluations are saying.
Believing In All Children work collaboratively with school districts. Evidence and research are used to defend the position and/or request being made. It is the goal that the relationship between the family and district is strengthened by our presence.
Believing In all children has a high success rate. But there are times when the two parties can not come to an agreement. In this case we would assist and guide you through your parental rights.
If you have questions about the opportunities available to you in our programs, feel free to send us a message. We will get back to you as soon as possible.
